Cycle planning

Size a soybean hydraulic line from the barrel clock, not brochure tonnage

Every soybean hydraulic plan reduces to arithmetic: how many 100 kg barrels can be conditioned, loaded, pressed, and discharged per shift. The sections that follow walk that arithmetic for hot and cold cycles so press count and upstream pacing get decided honestly.

Hard numbers

The numbers every soybean throughput plan starts from

The press cell is a 60 MPa hydraulic system driven by a 2.2 kW motor — modest power, because the work is slow static pressure, not shearing. What limits output is the barrel rotation, so the plan starts from the barrel, not the pump.

  • Standard barrel Ø390×800 mm, maximum 100 kg of crushed, conditioned feed per load.
  • Hot route: 30-40 minutes pure pressing per barrel; a two-barrel rotation takes about 1.5 hours including loading and discharge.
  • Cold route: about 2 hours pure pressing per barrel; roughly 4.5 hours for two barrels with handling.
  • Hot models 300/325 press at 300-325 tons; cold models 355-500 press at 370-630 tons.
  • Soybean is listed on the factory hot-press oilseed page — cold soybean work is a deliberate premium choice, not the default route.

Shift math

Walk one shift before quoting any daily capacity

Hot shift

Two barrels move about 200 kg of conditioned feed per 1.5-hour round. An 8-hour shift fits roughly five rounds on paper — about one tonne of feed per press — before cleaning and sampling take their share.

Cold shift

At roughly 4.5 hours per two-barrel round, one press moves under 400 kg of feed in an 8-hour shift. Cold soybean cycles are for premium small-batch identity oil, never for bulk crush.

Press count

Divide the daily bean plan by an honest per-press figure, then verify the cooker can actually fill that many barrels on time. Both checks have to pass.

Upstream pacing

Throughput dies upstream more often than at the press

  • Cooker output must arrive in 100 kg barrel units on the press clock; hot feed that queues cools out of the conditioning window.
  • Loading and discharge live inside the cycle: barrel handling, cake knockout, and crude-oil trays all sit within the 1.5-hour hot round.
  • Residual oil is the quality gate on speed — the general hydraulic benchmark is about ≤5% on well-conditioned feed, and rushing conditioning to feed more barrels usually loses more in cake oil than it gains in rounds.
  • Multi-press rooms should stagger barrel starts so one operator team keeps every press loaded instead of three presses waiting on one crew.

Quote data

Cycle data that makes a soybean quote realistic

List five lines beside each other: daily bean plan, working hours per day, hot or cold route, conditioning capacity, and how cake and crude oil leave the press room. With those five, press count and model size — 300/325 hot or 355-500 cold — stop being guesses and become arithmetic.

Project boundary

What to confirm before scoping Soybean Hydraulic Press Cycle Time and Daily Throughput

Soybean Hydraulic Press Cycle Time and Daily Throughput should not be quoted from an equipment name alone. Check feed lots, target oil, post-press handling, and packing rhythm in one scope before deciding which Soybean Oil Press modules stay. Listed on the factory hot-press page — discuss 300/325 first.

When feed condition, moisture, impurities, batch weight, and product position are unclear, press tonnage and filter area become guesswork. Factory systems share 60 MPa and 2.2 kW motors; hot pure press is 30–40 min/barrel and cold pure press is ~2 h/barrel — cycle time matters more than brochure tonnage.

  • Confirm whether feed is whole seed, kernels, pretreated material, or an existing semi-finished stream.
  • Confirm whether the target is crude oil, filtered oil, bottled oil, drum ingredient oil, or a refining handoff.
  • Hot cycle reference: pure press 30-40 min/barrel, ~1.5 h for 2 barrels with loading; cold pure press ~2 h/barrel, ~4.5 h for 2 barrels.
  • Confirm batch rhythm, labor, changeover, retained samples, power (often 380V/50Hz/3ph), and site install conditions.

Factory model check

Match hot / cold models to factory hard data

Pin models to published factory specs before tonnage talk.

Hot 300/325: 300–325 ton, 60 MPa system, standard barrel Ø390×800 mm / max 100 kg, pure press 30–40 min/barrel, ~1.5 h for 2 barrels with loading, 2.2 kW motor. Cold 355/400/426/480/500: 370–630 ton, integrated frame, same 100 kg standard barrel, pure press ~2 h/barrel, ~4.5 h for 2 barrels with loading; optional Ø300 high-pressure barrel max 60 kg. Residual oil target ~≤5% (peanut hot often 6–8% measured).

  • Standard barrel Ø390×800 mm, max ~100 kg crushed feed; optional Ø300 high-pressure barrel max ~60 kg.
  • Cylinder material 27SiMn; cold frames are integrated molded steel; hot frames are typically H-type channel steel.
  • Listed on the factory hot-press page — discuss 300/325 first.

Equipment check

Line needs to land in equipment interfaces

Once the route is clear, write the interfaces: how preparation feeds the press, how oil leaves the press, how filtration connects to tanks, and how packing receives finished oil.

Front-end input

Record feed form, daily volume, moisture, and sorting needs so pretreatment is not left to operators.

Degumming, lecithin, and meal

Crude soy oil holds 1.8–2.5% phospholipids — hydration degumming and lecithin drying are often phase-one. Meal protein 44–46% or 48–50% dehulled needs an offtake plan.

Delivery data

Prepare space, power (often 380V/50Hz/3ph), labor, target package, local rules, and acceptance method before quotation.

Questions on this page

How many hydraulic presses does a soybean plant need per tonne of daily feed?

Work from the barrel clock. A hot two-barrel round moves about 200 kg of conditioned feed in roughly 1.5 hours, which is about one tonne per press across an 8-hour shift on paper. Divide the daily plan by an honest per-press figure, then confirm the cooker can pace that many barrels.

Why not run cold cycles when throughput matters?

Cold pure pressing takes about 2 hours per barrel and roughly 4.5 hours per two-barrel round, a fraction of hot output. Cold soybean cycles exist for premium identity oil, and the plan should say so explicitly.

Would a bigger motor shorten the pressing cycle?

No. The 2.2 kW motor only builds pressure in the 60 MPa hydraulic system; cycle time is governed by how the conditioned feed releases oil under static pressure and by the loading and discharge rhythm around the barrel.
